In 1992 I was sent to Jamaica, West Indies by Vanguard Films and commissioned to adapt Timothy White's biography of the Rasta Legend

The Poet and the Tsar: The Life and Times of Alexander Pushkin​

Living in Saint Ann's Bay near Marley's ancestral home in 9 Miles I frequented the Soviet Socialist sponsored Marcus Garvey Library and discovered the works of the great Pushkin. When I returned to the states I sold the project to Vanguard Films and spent six years writing the screenplay.
