Vanguard Animation producer/screenwriter Michael Chase Walker (The Last Unicorn, Catch a Fire: The Bob Marley Story, Circus Galacticus, Rotten island) options and adapts Academy Award winner Jules Feiffer's graphic novel, "Trapped in a Comic Book" as an epic animated live-action feature.

Trapped in a Comic Book is the hilarious tale about a rag tag group of legendary comic book characters who come to life seeking a super hero to save them from a notorious super villain who has taken over the mythical land of Comictopia. When they discover that all the great comic book heroes have been bought up by the major film studios, they turn to a zany graphic novelist and his young protegé to fill in their shoes.

Cartoonist, playwright, screenwriter and children’s book author & illustrator Jules Feiffer won a Pulitzer Prize and a George Polk Award for his cartoons; an Obie for his plays; an Academy Award for his animated satire, Munro; and Lifetime Achievement Awards from the Writers Guild of America and the National Cartoonist Society. His epic manual, The Great Comic Book Heroes is considered the bible of the comic book industry.

Comic Con marketing wizard Jeff Walker has signed on as executive producer and special liaison to potential comic book publishers, merchandisers and licensers.

The five-figure against six-figure deal was brokered by Peter Hagan of Abrams Artists Agency New York.
